True intelligence comes from understanding the limits of thought from "summary" of The Awakening of Intelligence by J. KRISHNAMURTI
When we talk about intelligence, we usually think of it as the capacity to think clearly, to reason logically, or to solve complex problems. However, is this really what true intelligence is all about? Is it simply a matter of being able to analyze, evaluate, and come up with solutions? Or is there something more to it?In my view, true intelligence goes beyond mere intellectual abilities. It is not just about how much information we can gather or how well we can process it. True intelligence lies in our ability to understand the limitations of our own thoughts. It is about recognizing that our thinking is always conditioned by our past experiences, beliefs, and biases. When we are aware of the fact that our thinking is inherently limited, we become open to new possibilities and perspectives. We no longer cling to our own opinions and ideas as if they were absolute truths. Instead, we are willing to question them, to challenge them, and to let go of them when necessary. True intelligence is not about accumulating more knowledge or achieving higher levels of expertise. It is about being humble enough to admit that we don't know everything, and that there are always new things to learn. It is about being curious, open-minded, and receptive to different points of view. When we understand the limits of our own thoughts, we become more tolerant, more compassionate, and more empathetic towards others. We realize that everyone sees the world in their own unique way, and that there is no one-size-fits-all answer to any question. We become less judgmental, less arrogant, and more willing to listen and to learn from others.- True intelligence is not about being a genius or a know-it-all. It is about being aware of our own limitations, and being willing to transcend them. It is about cultivating a sense of humility, curiosity, and openness that allows us to grow and evolve as human beings. Only by understanding the limits of our thought, can we truly awaken to the intelligence that lies within us.
