I supported the formation of a new nation from "summary" of The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin by Benjamin Franklin

During the time in which I was living, there was much discussion and debate surrounding the idea of forming a new nation. Many of my fellow countrymen were growing increasingly discontent with the rule of the British government, and the desire for independence was gaining traction. I found myself among those who believed that it was time for us to break away from the oppressive rule of the British and establish a new nation founded on principles of liberty and democracy. I was inspired by the ideals of the Enlightenment, which espoused the rights of individuals to govern themselves and determine their own destiny. I believed that by breaking away from British rule and establishing our own nation, we could create a society that was more just, more equitable, and more free. I saw the formation of a new nation as an opportunity to create a government that truly represented the will of the people and protected their rights and freedoms. I threw myself into the cause of independence with all of my energy and resources. I worked tirelessly to build support for the idea of forming a new nation and to rally my fellow citizens to the cause. I wrote pamphlets and essays advocating for independence, and I spoke out publicly in support of the revolutionary movement. I used my influence and my position to help organize and coordinate the efforts of those who were working towards independence. I was deeply involved in the process of drafting and ratifying the Declaration of Independence, which laid out the reasons for our break from British rule and proclaimed the birth of a new nation. I believed that the Declaration was a crucial step towards establishing our independence and securing our rights as a new nation. I was proud to have played a role in its creation and to have been a part of the historic moment when it was adopted. The formation of a new nation was a bold and revolutionary idea, but I believed that it was necessary in order to secure our freedom and our future. I was willing to risk everything in order to see it realized, and I was overjoyed when our efforts finally came to fruition with the establishment of the United States of America. I knew that the road ahead would be difficult and uncertain, but I was confident that we had made the right choice in supporting the formation of a new nation.
