Alice provides a glimpse into Gertrude's mind from "summary" of The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein

In writing about Alice B. Toklas, I find myself delving deep into memories that have shaped my life. Through her eyes, I see the world in a new light, one that illuminates the corners of my mind that I have never explored before. It is as if she has a key to unlock the doors of my thoughts, revealing emotions and experiences that I have kept hidden for so long. Alice's presence in my life is like a mirror reflecting back to me my own complexities and contradictions. She has a way of understanding me that no one else does, and in her company, I feel truly seen and heard. Through her, I am able to confront my insecurities and fears, as well as my hopes and dreams, with a clarity that I have never experienced before. Her insights into my psyche are both comforting and unsettling, as she uncovers truths about me that I have long tried to ignore. It is a journey of self-discovery that I never thought possible, and one that I am grateful to undertake with her by my side. Through her, I am able to confront my past and present selves, forging a path towards a future that is more authentic and fulfilling. Alice's presence in my life is a gift that I cherish every day, as she provides me with a glimpse into my own mind that is both enlightening and transformative. Through her, I am able to see myself more clearly, and to embrace the complexities of my being with a newfound sense of acceptance and understanding. She is my confidante, my muse, and my mirror, and I am forever grateful for the ways in which she has shaped my life.
