Remember that procrastination is a natural part of the creative process from "summary" of The Art of Procrastination by John Perry

Procrastination is often seen as a negative trait, something to be avoided at all costs. However, I argue that procrastination can actually be a valuable part of the creative process. It allows your mind to wander and explore different ideas, leading to unexpected breakthroughs and innovations. When you procrastinate, you are giving your brain the freedom to make connections and associations that it might not have otherwise. Many famous creatives have embraced procrastination as a necessary part of their work. For example, Leonardo da Vinci was known to procrastinate on his projects, allowing himself time to contemplate and refine his ideas. Similarly, author Douglas Adams famously said, "I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by. " Procrastination can actually lead to better work in the end, as it gives you the time and space to truly develop your ideas. It is important to recognize that not all procrastination is created equal. There is a difference between mindlessly surfing the internet and engaging in purposeful procrastination. Purposeful procrastination involves actively thinking about your project while doing something else. This can actually help you come up with new ideas and solutions that you might not have considered otherwise. In order to harness the power of procrastination in your creative process, it is important to strike a balance. You don't want to procrastinate so much that you never actually get anything done, but you also don't want to rush through a project without giving yourself time to think and reflect. By embracing procrastination as a natural part of the creative process, you can unlock new possibilities and push your work to new heights.
