Letting go of resentment allows for growth and healing from "summary" of The Anatomy of Peace, Fourth Edition by The Arbinger Institute

Resentment is like a weight that we carry around with us, dragging us down and holding us back from moving forward. When we hold onto resentment towards someone, we are essentially allowing ourselves to be stuck in the past, unable to grow or heal. By letting go of resentment, we free ourselves from the burden of negative emotions and open ourselves up to the possibility of growth and healing. When we release the grip of resentment, we create space for understanding, compassion, and forgiveness to take root in our hearts. Instead of being consumed by bitterness and anger, we can start to see things from a different perspective and engage with others in a more positive and constructive way. Letting go of resentment does not mean that we condone or ignore the harm that was done to us, but rather it allows us to move forward with a sense of peace and freedom. When we choose to let go of resentment, we are choosing to prioritize our own well-being and emotional health. We are making a conscious decision to release the negative energy that has been holding us back and to embrace a more positive and empowering mindset. In doing so, we create the conditions for growth and healing to take place within us. We give ourselves the opportunity to break free from the cycle of pain and suffering and to cultivate a sense of inner peace and resilience. By letting go of resentment, we open ourselves up to the transformative power of healing and growth.
