Human reason is capable of discovering truth without relying on religious dogma from "summary" of The Age of Reason Original Edition(Annotated) by Thomas Paine

In the examination of the various systems of religion, I have found that they are all derived from the imagination of man. The truth is not to be found in any of them. Religious dogmas have been imposed upon mankind by priests and impostors who seek to control and manipulate the masses. However, human reason is a powerful tool that can lead us to truth without the need for religious dogma. Reason has the ability to analyze and evaluate evidence, to question and challenge beliefs, and to arrive at conclusions based on rational thought. By using our own faculties of reason, we can uncover the truth that lies beyond the confines of religious doctrines. We do not need to rely on the teachings of others to discover what is true and what is not. Religious dogmas are often contradictory and illogical, leading to confusion and division among believers. By contrast, reason provides a clear and logical path to truth that is accessible to all who are willing to use it. We must trust in our own ability to think critically and independently in order to discern the truth for ourselves. The Age of Reason is a time for humanity to break free from the chains of religious dogma and embrace the power of reason. We must not allow ourselves to be held captive by the beliefs and doctrines of others, but instead we must seek out truth for ourselves through the use of our own reasoning faculties. The path to enlightenment lies in our own minds, waiting to be discovered through the exercise of our reason.
