Huck fakes his own death from "summary" of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Huck, he come in and got a good place by the stove, and set down, and there warn't nobody there but me, so he begun to talk to me. He says:“They're after us.”
“Yes,” says I, “I reckon so.”
“It's a dirty business,” he says, “and I'm going to be in it, and in it deep. They'll never find me, though. Huck, I'm going to fake my own death.”
I was amazed. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Huck, my friend, planning to fake his own death? It seemed like a crazy idea, but then again, Huck had always been full of surprises.
He went on to explain his plan to me. He would stage his own murder, making it look like he had been killed by robbers. He would leave a trail of clues to make it seem like he had been kidnapped and murdered. And then, he would disappear, leaving everyone to think he was dead.
