In leadership, humility is not just a desirable quality—it is an essential one. Without humility, a leader will struggle to connect with others and earn their trust and respect. This concept is especially critical when we consider the five levels of leadership outlined in this book. At the first level, Position, people follow you because they have to. Your authority comes from your title or position within the organization. However, if you lack humility at this level, you run the risk of alienating your team.
