Surrendering involves accepting the present moment from "summary" of Surrender by Bono

Surrendering is not about giving up or admitting defeat; it is about embracing the here and now. It is about acknowledging that the present moment is all we truly have, and that fighting against it only leads to suffering. When we surrender, we let go of our resistance to what is, and we open ourselves up to the possibilities that exist in the present moment. Accepting the present moment does not mean that we have to like everything that is happening. It simply means that we are willing to face reality as it is, without trying to change it or escape from it. By accepting the present moment, we free ourselves from the burden of constantly trying to control the uncontrollable. When we surrender to the present moment, we find a sense of peace and freedom that we cannot achieve through struggle. We let go of the need to constantly be somewhere else, or to be someone else. We let go of the stories we tell ourselves about how things should be, and we simply allow things to be as they are. Surrendering involves a deep trust in the unfolding of life. It is about recognizing that there is a natural order to things, and that we are a part of something much greater than ourselves. When we surrender, we align ourselves with this greater flow, and we allow ourselves to be carried along by it. In surrendering to the present moment, we release ourselves from the grip of the past and the worries of the future. We are able to fully immerse ourselves in the richness of the present, and to experience life in all its fullness. When we surrender, we let go of the need to constantly strive for something more, and we find contentment in what is right in front of us.
