Prophet Muhammad's Childhood from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) by Imam Imaduddin Isma’il Ibn Kathir

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in the city of Makkah, in the year of the Elephant. His father, Abdullah, passed away before his birth, leaving him to be raised by his mother, Aminah. Even as a young child, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his noble character and honesty. He was given the nickname "Al-Amin" which means the trustworthy, due to his reputation for being truthful and reliable. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) faced many hardships during his childhood, such as the loss of his father and mother at a young age. He was taken care of by his grandfather, Abdul-Muttalib, who loved him dearly. As he grew older, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) began to work as a shepherd, helping to take care of his family's sheep. This experience taught him important lessons about responsibility and caring for others. Despite the challenges he faced, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) remained steadfast in his faith and devotion to Allah. He would often spend time in solitude, contemplating the mysteries of the universe and seeking guidance from the Creator. Throughout his childhood, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) displayed remarkable wisdom and maturity beyond his years. These qualities would later help him to become a great leader and guide for all of humanity.
