Prophet Moses and Pharaoh from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) by Imam Imaduddin Isma’il Ibn Kathir

Prophet Moses was born during a time when the Pharaoh of Egypt was ruling with great tyranny and oppression. The Pharaoh considered himself a god and demanded that his people worship him. However, Prophet Moses was chosen by Allah to deliver a message of guidance and truth to the people of Egypt. When Prophet Moses was still a young man, he accidentally killed an Egyptian who was oppressing one of his fellow Israelites. Realizing the gravity of his actions, Prophet Moses fled Egypt and sought refuge in the land of Midian. It was there that he encountered the righteous man Shu'ayb, who guided him and helped him find his way back to Allah. After spending many years in exile, Prophet Moses received a divine revelation from Allah, instructing him to return to Egypt and confront the Pharaoh. Despite his initial fear and hesitation, Prophet Moses obeyed the command of Allah and set out on his mission. When Prophet Moses and his brother Aaron stood before the Pharaoh and delivered the message of Allah, the Pharaoh was arrogant and refused to listen. He rejected the signs and miracles that were sent as proofs of Prophet Moses' truthfulness and claimed that he himself was the greatest of gods. As the confrontation between Prophet Moses and the Pharaoh escalated, Allah sent a series of plagues upon Egypt to convince the Pharaoh of the error of his ways. Each time a plague struck, the Pharaoh would temporarily relent, only to return to his stubbornness and disbelief once the calamity had passed. Ultimately, the Pharaoh's arrogance and rejection of the truth led to his downfall. As Prophet Moses and his people were finally granted permission to leave Egypt, the Pharaoh and his army pursued them. However, Allah caused the sea to part, allowing Prophet Moses and his followers to escape while the Pharaoh and his army were drowned.
  1. Tyranny, and disbelief. It shows that no matter how powerful a tyrant may seem, ultimately, it is Allah who has ultimate control and authority.
