Prophet Ishmael and the Sacrifice from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) by Imam Imaduddin Isma’il Ibn Kathir
Prophet Ishmael was the son of Prophet Ibrahim, and they shared a strong bond of love and faith. Ibrahim had waited for many years to have a child, and when Ishmael was born, he became the apple of his father's eye. As Ishmael grew older, Ibrahim received a command from Allah in a dream to sacrifice his beloved son as a test of his faith. Ibrahim, being a devoted servant of Allah, did not hesitate to fulfill this difficult task. He informed Ishmael about the divine command, and without any resistance, Ishmael accepted his fate. Together, father and son set out to carry out the sacrifice, with Ishmael showing unwavering faith and submission to the will of Allah. As they reached the designated place for the sacrifice, Ibrahim laid Ishmael down and prepared to carry out the act. However, just as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son, Allah intervened and provided a ram as a substitute for Ishmael. This act of obedience and sacrifice demonstrated the utmost level of faith and devotion that Ibrahim and Ishmael had for Allah. The story of Prophet Ishmael and the Sacrifice serves as a powerful lesson in faith, trust, and submission to the will of Allah. It highlights the importance of obeying divine commands, even when they seem difficult or challenging. Through their unwavering faith and obedience, Ibrahim and Ishmael set an example for all believers to follow, showing that true faith means putting one's complete trust in Allah and being willing to sacrifice everything for His sake.Similar Posts
