Noah and the Great Flood from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) by Imam Imaduddin Isma’il Ibn Kathir
Prophet Noah was a great messenger of Allah who was sent to guide his people towards the right path. He lived among a community that had deviated from the teachings of God and had engaged in sinful acts. Despite his continuous efforts to guide them, they refused to listen to his message and persisted in their wrongful ways. As a result of their disobedience and arrogance, Allah decided to send a great flood to wipe out the sinful people from the face of the earth. Allah revealed to Noah that he should build an ark to save himself, his followers, and a pair of each kind of animal. Noah obeyed the command of Allah and began constructing the ark as a means of salvation from the impending flood. The people mocked and ridiculed Noah for building the ark on dry land, far away from any body of water. However, Noah remained steadfast in his faith and continued to work diligently on the ark, following the instructions given to him by Allah. When the time came, the floodwaters burst forth from the earth and rain poured down from the sky, causing a great deluge that engulfed the land. The ark floated safely on the surface of the water, carrying Noah, his followers, and the animals to safety. The disbelievers who had rejected the message of Noah were drowned in the flood, as Allah had decreed. After the floodwaters receded and the land became dry once again, Noah and his followers emerged from the ark and began to rebuild their lives. The story of Noah and the Great Flood serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of disobedience and the importance of faith and perseverance in the face of adversity. It highlights the mercy of Allah towards those who believe in Him and follow His guidance, as well as the swift punishment that awaits those who turn away from His path.Similar Posts
