Adam's Creation from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) by Imam Imaduddin Isma’il Ibn Kathir
When Allah decided to create Adam, He sent down an angel to gather clay from all corners of the earth. This clay was mixed with water from the seas, creating a smooth and fragrant clay. Allah then breathed His spirit into the clay, giving life to Adam. As soon as Adam opened his eyes, he saw the first thing that Allah created for him - the throne of Allah. Adam was struck by the majesty of the throne and the magnificence of its Creator. Allah then taught Adam the names of all things, from the heavens to the earth. He asked the angels to name these things, but they admitted that they knew only what Allah had taught them. Adam, on the other hand, recited all the names effortlessly. This display of knowledge and wisdom by Adam made the angels realize the greatness of Adam's creation. Allah then commanded the angels to prostrate before Adam in a gesture of respect and honor. All of the angels complied except for Iblis, who was arrogant and refused to bow down. Iblis became the first to disobey Allah, leading to his expulsion from Paradise. Adam was then placed in Paradise, where he lived a peaceful and blissful life. Allah provided him with everything he needed and prohibited him from eating the fruit of a certain tree. However, Iblis tricked Adam and his wife, Hawwa, into eating the forbidden fruit, leading to their expulsion from Paradise. Despite this mistake, Allah forgave Adam and Hawwa, teaching them the power of repentance and seeking forgiveness. Adam was then sent to earth, where he became the father of humanity. Throughout his life, Adam spread the message of monotheism and obedience to Allah, setting the foundation for all future prophets and messengers to come.Similar Posts
