Parting of the Red Sea from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets by Ismāʻīl ibn ʻUmar Ibn Kathīr

During the time of Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, the Children of Israel found themselves trapped between the pursuing army of Pharaoh and the vast expanse of the Red Sea. As they stood at the edge of the water, with no apparent escape in sight, fear and despair gripped their hearts. The situation seemed hopeless, and they cried out to Moses in desperation, accusing him of leading them to their doom. In response to their pleas, Prophet Moses turned to Allah in supplication, seeking His divine intervention in this dire moment. Allah, in His infinite mercy and power, instructed Prophet Moses to strike the sea with his staff. As Prophet Moses obeyed the command of his Lord, a miraculous event unfolded before the eyes of the astonished onlookers. The waters of the Red Sea parted, creating a path through the midst of the sea. The sea became like towering walls on either side of the passage, leaving a dry path for the Children of Israel to walk upon. In this incredible display of divine power, Allah saved His chosen people from the imminent danger that threatened to engulf them. With the sea miraculously divided, the Children of Israel crossed to the other side, walking on the dry seabed. As they reached the safety of the opposite shore, the pursuing army of Pharaoh followed in their footsteps, intent on capturing or destroying them. But Allah, in His wisdom and justice, decreed that the oppressive tyrant Pharaoh and his army would meet their end in the same sea that had been miraculously parted for the believers. As Pharaoh and his army entered the path of the parted sea, the walls of water came crashing down upon them, drowning them in a watery grave. The once-mighty army of Pharaoh was vanquished, while the Children of Israel were saved by the mercy and power of Allah. This momentous event served as a sign of Allah's sovereignty and a testament to His ability to deliver His servants from the most dire of circumstances.
