Courage is necessary to overcome obstacles from "summary" of Stories from Tagore by Rabindranath Tagore

In the face of challenges, it is courage that allows us to push forward and conquer the obstacles that stand in our way. This courage is not merely a physical strength, but a mental fortitude that enables us to confront our fears and doubts head-on. In the stories from Tagore, we see how characters like Ratan in "The Kabuliwala" and the young girl in "The Homecoming" display this inner courage in the face of adversity. Ratan, a young girl who forms a bond with the Kabuliwala, is faced with the obstacle of his sudden disappearance from her life. Despite the sadness and uncertainty that this separation brings, Ratan finds the strength within herself to continue on with her life, holding onto the memories and lessons that the Kabuliwala imparted to her. Her courage allows her to accept the reality of his absence and move forward with hope in her heart. Similarly, in "The Homecoming", the young girl is confronted with the obstacle of her family's disapproval of her desire to return to her childhood home. Despite the doubts and fears that threaten to hold her back, she summons the courage to stand up for her own happiness and follow her heart. It is this courage that ultimately leads her to a place of peace and fulfillment, as she embraces her true self and finds acceptance in the face of opposition.
  1. We are reminded that courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to act in spite of it. It is this courage that empowers us to face our obstacles head-on and emerge stronger on the other side. As we navigate the challenges of life, it is this inner strength that will guide us towards overcoming the hurdles that lie in our path, leading us towards growth, resilience, and ultimately, success.
