Acceptance of the present moment from "summary" of Spiritual Solutions by Deepak Chopra, M.D.
Acceptance of the present moment is the key to finding inner peace and contentment in our lives. When we resist what is happening in the present moment, we create suffering for ourselves. By accepting the reality of the present moment, we can free ourselves from unnecessary stress and anxiety. This does not mean that we should resign ourselves to a passive existence. Acceptance is not the same as approval. It simply means acknowledging what is happening without judgment or resistance. When we accept the present moment, we are able to see things as they truly are. This allows us to respond to challenges with clarity and wisdom, rather than reacting impulsively out of fear or anger. Acceptance does not mean that we have to like everything that is happening in our lives. We can cultivate gratitude for the blessings we have, while also acknowledging the challenges we face. Acceptance allows us to live with greater awareness and presence, appreciating each moment as it unfolds. This practice can lead to a deeper sense of connection with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.- Acceptance of the present moment is a powerful spiritual practice that can transform our lives.
