Treaty of Hudaybiyyah from "summary" of SIRAT UN NABI (2 Vols. Set) by Allama Shibli Nu'man
The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah marked a significant turning point in the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the history of Islam. It was a pivotal moment that would test the faith and patience of the companions of the Prophet and ultimately lead to the conquest of Mecca. The treaty was signed between the Muslims of Medina and the Quraysh of Mecca in the 6th year of Hijrah. The Prophet Muhammad and his companions had set out with the intention of performing the pilgrimage to Mecca but were prevented from doing so by the Quraysh. After negotiations, a truce was agreed upon that allowed the Muslims to return the following year to perform the pilgrimage. Many of the companions were disappointed by the terms of the treaty, as it seemed to favor the Quraysh. However, the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad soon became apparent as events unfolded. The treaty allowed for a period of peace and stability, giving the Muslims the opportunity to focus on spreading the message of Islam without the threat of war. During this time, many new alliances were formed, and the message of Islam began to reach far and wide. The Muslims also gained the support of various tribes, strengthening their position in Arabia. The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah showed the strategic genius of the Prophet Muhammad and his ability to turn a seemingly unfavorable situation into a great victory for Islam.- The events following the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah would lead to the conquest of Mecca and the establishment of Islam as the dominant force in Arabia. It was a testament to the unwavering faith and patience of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, as well as a demonstration of the power of diplomacy and strategic thinking in the face of adversity.
