Farewell pilgrimage from "summary" of SIRAT UN NABI (2 Vols. Set) by Allama Shibli Nu'man
The Farewell Pilgrimage was the last and most significant pilgrimage made by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It took place in the 10th year of Hijra, just a few months before his passing. This pilgrimage holds great importance in the history of Islam, as it was during this time that the Prophet delivered his famous sermon known as the Farewell Sermon. The Farewell Pilgrimage marked the culmination of the Prophet's mission on Earth. It was a time for him to address his followers and impart important teachings that would guide them after his departure. During this pilgrimage, the Prophet performed all the rituals of Hajj, demonstrating to his followers the correct way to perform the pilgrimage. One of the key messages of the Farewell Sermon was the importance of unity among Muslims. The Prophet emphasized the equality of all believers, regardless of their race or social status. He also stressed the need for Muslims to treat each other with kindness and respect, and to uphold justice and fairness in all matters. Another important aspect of the Farewell Pilgrimage was the abolition of certain pre-Islamic practices that were incompatible with the teachings of Islam. The Prophet made it clear that all forms of idolatry and superstition were to be abandoned, and that only the worship of one true God was acceptable.- The Farewell Pilgrimage was a time of reflection, guidance, and renewal for the Muslim community. It served as a reminder of the Prophet's teachings and legacy, and laid the foundation for the continued spread of Islam after his passing. The lessons learned during this pilgrimage continue to guide Muslims around the world to this day, reminding them of the importance of unity, justice, and faith in their lives.
