Siddhartha learns from the river from "summary" of Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

Siddhartha sat by the river and listened. He listened to the water flowing, the wind rustling through the trees, the birds chirping in the distance. He listened with an open heart, ready to receive whatever the river had to teach him. As he sat there day after day, Siddhartha began to notice the patterns of the river. He saw how it flowed effortlessly, always moving forward, never looking back. He saw how it could be calm and gentle one moment, and wild and turbulent the next.
