Siddhartha becomes one with the river from "summary" of Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

As Siddhartha sat by the river, he felt a deep connection with the flowing water. He listened to the gentle murmur of the river, feeling as though it spoke to him in a language only he could understand. The river seemed to carry with it the wisdom of the ages, whispering secrets of the universe to Siddhartha's eager ears. As he continued to meditate by the river, Siddhartha's sense of self began to dissolve. He no longer saw himself as a separate individual, but rather as a part of the vast river of existence. He felt his consciousness expanding, merging with the eternal flow of time and space that the river represented. In this state of oneness with the river, Siddhartha experienced a profound sense of peace and harmony. He no longer felt the weight of his worldly concerns or the burden of his past mistakes. Instead, he felt light and free, as though he could float effortlessly along the river's current, carried by its gentle embrace. As Siddhartha gazed into the clear waters of the river, he saw his reflection staring back at him. But instead of seeing himself as a separate individual, he saw himself as a part of the river itself. He saw how his own life was interconnected with the lives of all beings, flowing together in an eternal dance of existence. In that moment, Siddhartha understood the true nature of reality. He realized that all things are interconnected, that there is no separation between the self and the world. He saw that the river was not just a physical body of water, but a symbol of the cosmic unity that underlies all of creation. And so, Siddhartha let go of his ego and surrendered himself to the river. He allowed its wisdom to flow through him, guiding him on his journey towards enlightenment. In that moment, he became one with the river, united in spirit with the eternal pulse of life that beats at the heart of the universe.
