Siddhartha becomes a samana from "summary" of Siddharta by Hermann Hesse

Siddhartha felt restless in his comfortable life as a Brahmin's son. He was not satisfied with the teachings and rituals of his father and the other wise men in his community. He yearned for a deeper understanding of the world and his own self. This unease led him to make a bold decision - to leave behind everything he knew and embark on a journey of self-discovery. He decided to become a samana, a wandering ascetic who seeks spiritual enlightenment through self-denial and discipline. This decision was a radical departure from his previous life, but Siddhartha was determined to find the answers he sought. He shaved his head, put on a simple robe, and set out into the world with nothing but his resolve and determination. As a samana, Siddhartha embraced a life of extreme asceticism. He endured hunger, thirst, and physical discomfort in order to purify his body and mind. He sought out other samanas and learned from them the ways of meditation and self-control.
