The Bhagavad Gita teaches us a profound truth - that detachment from outcomes leads to freedom from suffering. When we are too attached to the results of our actions, we become slaves to our desires and fears. We are constantly worried about success and failure, pleasure and pain, praise and criticism. Our happiness becomes dependent on external circumstances that are beyond our control. By cultivating detachment, we free ourselves from the rollercoaster of emotions that come with attachment. We learn to do our duty without being attached to the results. This does not mean that we become indifferent or apathetic. On the contrary, detachment allows us to act with greater clarity, focus, and dedication. We perform our tasks to the best of our abilities, without being swayed by the ups and downs of life.
