Destruction and creation cycle from "summary" of Shiv Puran by Dr. Vinay
In the grand scheme of the universe, there exists a perpetual cycle of destruction and creation. This eternal process is orchestrated by none other than Lord Shiva, the ultimate creator and destroyer. At the end of each cosmic cycle, Lord Shiva dances the Tandava, a divine dance that signifies the destruction of the old universe. Through this dance, he annihilates everything in existence, from the mightiest mountains to the tiniest particles. Once the old universe has been reduced to ashes, Lord Shiva enters a state of deep meditation known as Samadhi. In this state, he remains dormant until the time is right for the creation of a new universe. When the time comes, Lord Shiva awakens from his meditation and begins the process of creation. With a mere thought, he brings forth the elements of the universe - earth, water, fire, air, and ether. These elements combine to form the building blocks of the new world. As the creator, Lord Shiva breathes life into the universe, giving birth to countless beings and creatures. He establishes order and balance, ensuring that everything functions according to his divine will. Thus, the cycle of destruction and creation continues unabated, with Lord Shiva presiding over the eternal dance of existence. Through this endless cycle, he maintains the cosmic balance and upholds the laws of the universe.Similar Posts
