Confronting internal divisions and conflicts from "summary" of Revolutionary Suicide by Huey P. Newton
In order to truly be a revolutionary, one must be willing to face the internal divisions and conflicts that exist within oneself. These internal struggles can arise from a variety of sources, such as childhood traumas, societal conditioning, or personal insecurities. However, it is only by confronting these inner demons that one can hope to truly transform oneself and the world around them. For me, this process of confronting internal divisions and conflicts began at a young age. Growing up in a society that was hostile to Black people, I was constantly bombarded with messages that I was inferior, unworthy, and powerless. These beliefs took root deep within me, shaping the way I saw myself and my place in the world. It was only through the process of self-reflection and introspection that I was able to see these beliefs for what they truly were – lies designed to keep me in chains.
