Children with conduct disorder are characterized by a persistent pattern of behavior that violates the rights of others and societal norms. Conduct disorder typically emerges in childhood or adolescence and can have serious negative consequences for the individual and those around them. Research has shown that children with conduct disorder are at an increased risk for developing psychopathy later in life. Psychopathy is a personality disorder characterized by a lack of empathy, guilt, and remorse, as well as manipulative and deceitful behavior.
