Suffers memory loss during mission from "summary" of Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

During the mission, I started losing my memory. It wasn't a gradual decline, more like flicking off a light switch. One moment everything was crystal clear, the next, it was like trying to remember a dream. I'd be in the middle of a task and suddenly draw a blank, not knowing what I was supposed to do next. It was disorienting, to say the least. At first, I tried to push through it, hoping it was just a momentary lapse. But as time went on, it became clear that this was something more serious.
