Priest confronts his inner demons from "summary" of Priest by Sierra Simone

The weight of my sins presses down on me, dark and heavy, a burden I carry every day. I am a man of God, a priest sworn to serve and protect my congregation, but beneath the cloth lies a darkness, a desire that consumes me. Lust, like a hungry beast, gnaws at my soul, tempting me with its forbidden fruits. I fight against it, with prayers and penance, but it lingers, a shadow that never fades. I stand before the altar, my hands trembling as I raise the chalice. The wine inside is red as blood, a reminder of the sacrifice I must make every day. I close my eyes, trying to shut out the whispers that echo in my mind, the memories that taunt me with their seductive promises. I am a man of faith, but even the strongest will can falter in the face of temptation. She stands before me, her eyes dark with desire, a siren calling me to the depths of my own damnation. I should turn away, cast her out like a demon tempting me from the path of righteousness. But I cannot. I am weak, a flawed vessel for the divine, and her presence is a flame that burns away my resistance. I kneel before her, my heart pounding in my chest, my hands shaking as they reach out to touch her. I should be strong, resolute in my convictions, but I am only a man, a slave to my own desires. She smiles, a knowing smirk that cuts through me like a knife, exposing the raw, wounded flesh beneath the cloth of my faith. I am lost, adrift in a sea of sin, drowning in the depths of my own depravity. The collar around my neck is a chain that binds me to my duty, but I can feel it slipping, the metal cutting into my skin as I struggle to break free. I am a priest, a shepherd of souls, but who will save me from the darkness that threatens to consume me whole?
