When we observe an object in motion, we must consider our own position in relation to the object. This is because motion is not absolute - it is always relative to a frame of reference. A frame of reference is a set of coordinates that can be used to determine the position of an object in motion. For example, if we are standing on a train platform watching a train go by, our frame of reference is the platform itself. We can describe the motion of the train in relation to the platform - how fast it is moving, in what direction, and so on. However, if we were on the moving train itself, our frame of reference would be different.
