Jupiter's anger from "summary" of Ovid: Metamorphoses I by A.G. Lee

Jupiter, the king of gods, was filled with anger after discovering the deceitful behavior of one of his followers. He then unleashed his wrath upon them, transforming them into various creatures and objects.
  1. Nothing would stop Jupiter's anger anymore - fires turned black rocks into red lava, and earthquakes threatened anything near it. The Earth itself shook out of fear.

  3. To prevent any further disasters, Jupiter instituted laws for everyone to follow or else face heavy consequences. This marked the beginning of new generations dedicated to showing reverence towards the deity.
  4. Jupiter was so angry that he wanted to take revenge on humanity and destroy them all with a great flood. He commanded Neptune, the god of the sea, to release all the waters upon the earth.
  5. His anger knew no bounds and the wicked floods covered everything that came in its way, destroying nature and living creatures alike. Even the gods trembled at his wrath!
  6. In time, Jupiter's rage subsided but the memories of his wrath never faded away. Ancient stories kept describing his tremendous energy capable of changing the course of history.
  7. People everywhere were terrified when they heard this news as they did not know how to escape from such fury. So, they fled to mountains, caves and other safe places to save their lives.
  8. When the destruction ended, the whole world had changed. All version of vegetation had disappeared, and oceans had taken over their place.
