Overthinking can lead to anxiety from "summary" of Overthinking by Jon Power

When we find ourselves overthinking, our minds become entangled in a web of endless thoughts, scenarios, and possibilities. We become trapped in a cycle of analyzing every detail, second-guessing every decision, and worrying about every outcome. Our thoughts spiral out of control, leading us down dark paths of uncertainty and fear. As we overthink, we become hyper-focused on the negative aspects of a situation, blowing things out of proportion and creating problems that may not even exist. We become consumed by our thoughts, unable to break free from the relentless cycle of overanalyzing and ruminating. Our minds become overwhelmed with doubt, insecurity, and self-criticism. This incessant overthinking can take a toll on our mental well-being, causing feelings of stress, anxiety, and even panic. We become so caught up in our thoughts that we lose touch with reality, unable to see things clearly or rationally. Our minds become clouded with worry and fear, making it difficult to focus, make decisions, or find peace. As our anxiety levels rise, our bodies respond with physical symptoms such as racing heart, shallow breathing, and tense muscles. We may experience sleep disturbances, appetite changes, and other signs of heightened stress. Our overall sense of well-being is compromised, leaving us feeling exhausted, irritable, and emotionally drained. The more we overthink, the deeper we sink into the quicksand of anxiety. Our minds become a battleground of conflicting thoughts and emotions, making it challenging to find relief or escape. We become trapped in a vicious cycle of overthinking and anxiety, unable to break free from the grip of our own minds. In order to overcome this destructive pattern, we must learn to recognize when we are overthinking and take steps to quiet our minds. By practicing mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and positive self-talk, we can learn to manage our thoughts and emotions more effectively. We can break free from the cycle of overthinking and anxiety, reclaiming our mental clarity and emotional well-being.
