Success came with sacrifices from "summary" of Open: An Autobiography by Andre Agassi

Success, it seems, is not something that can be achieved without making sacrifices. This was a lesson I learned early on in my tennis career, a lesson that would stay with me for the rest of my life. As I climbed the ranks and reached the pinnacle of my sport, I had to make some tough decisions along the way. Sacrifices had to be made in order to reach my goals, sacrifices that would ultimately shape the course of my career. One of the biggest sacrifices I had to make was giving up my childhood in pursuit of greatness. From a young age, I was thrust into the world of competitive tennis, spending hours upon hours on the court perfecting my game. While other kids were out playing with friends and enjoying their youth, I was honing my skills and preparing for the battles that lay ahead. It was a lonely existence at times, but I knew that if I wanted to succeed, I had to be willing to make sacrifices. As I grew older and my career began to take off, the sacrifices only became greater. I had to give up the comforts of home and family in order to travel the world and compete against the best in the game. I missed out on birthdays, holidays, and other important events, all in the name of chasing my dreams. It was a price I was willing to pay, but it was not without its challenges. There were times when the sacrifices felt too heavy to bear, when the loneliness and isolation became too much to handle. But through it all, I remained focused on my goals and never lost sight of what I was working towards. I knew that success was not easy, that it required dedication, determination, and a willingness to make sacrifices along the way. Looking back on my career now, I can see that the sacrifices were worth it. The success I achieved on the court, the championships and accolades, were all a result of the sacrifices I made. While there were certainly moments of doubt and despair, I never wavered in my commitment to achieving greatness. Sacrifices had to be made, but in the end, they were the key to my success.
