Reality is controlled by the Party's narrative from "summary" of Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

The Party's narrative is the ultimate truth, the absolute reality that governs every aspect of existence. It is a carefully crafted tale, meticulously designed to shape the thoughts and perceptions of the masses. Through a relentless barrage of propaganda, the Party instills its version of reality into the minds of its subjects, controlling their every thought and action. By controlling the past, the Party is able to manipulate the present and shape the future. History is constantly being rewritten to align with the Party's narrative, erasing any trace of dissent or opposition. The past becomes a fluid and malleable entity, subject to the whims of those in power. Language itself is a tool of control, with the Party imposing Newspeak upon the population to limit the range of thought. By restricting vocabulary and altering the meaning of words, the Party is able to dictate what can and cannot be expressed. Thoughtcrime is the ultimate offense, as even the slightest deviation from the Party's narrative is punishable by death. The telescreens that pervade every corner of Oceania serve as a constant reminder of the Party's omniscient presence. They broadcast propaganda, monitor the populace, and even transmit orders from Big Brother himself. Privacy is nonexistent, as every word and action is scrutinized for any hint of dissent. Doublethink is the ability to hold two contradictory beliefs simultaneously and accept both as true. It is a crucial tool in maintaining the Party's narrative, as citizens are expected to believe whatever they are told, regardless of its absurdity. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. In this dystopian world, reality is not objective or absolute. It is a fluid and ever-changing construct, subject to the whims of those in power. The Party's narrative is the only truth, and to question it is to invite punishment. The ultimate goal is to create a society in which independent thought is impossible, and the Party's control is absolute.
