  3. A lesser-known heroic tale includes that of Iris saving Prometheus’ life by delivering message to Zeus. By going against the orders of God, Iris risked being shunned and even cursed; yet, she still dared to disobey, highlighting her own strength of character and magnitude of kindness.
  4. The bravery of Artemis was also highlighted in stories where she killed the giant Tityon who had attempted to harm her brother Apollo. Her every arrow pierced through the giant’s skin showing skills in hunting as well as remarkable courage.
  5. Another famous courageous feat of the deities was when the goddess Athena helped Odysseus survive a 10-year journey on his return home after the fall of Troy by providing him with guidance and protection throughout his voyage.
  6. When Hades kidnapped Demeter’s daughter Persephone, it required extraordinary force from other gods such as Zeus and Hermes to drive him back underground in order to restore her to freedom. Through this great risking of their own safety, they were able to gather enough courage to perform such an impressive feat.
  7. Similarly, Apollo’s assistance in the Greek war against the Trojans proved instrumental for securing victory. Filled with superhuman power from his father Zeus, he kept aiding his brothers fighting on the frontlines despite the horrendous losses they had to suffer.
  8. In Norse mythology, the goddess Freyja was known for her valor and resourcefulness during battle. She led armies in both offensive and defensive strategies which earned her respect and admiration amongst warriors in many different places.
  9. Lastly, We see Thor's heroic deed when he decided to storm into the land of giants to rescue his friend Idunn from captivity. With a tight grip on his hammer, he lay waste to his enemies emerging victorious and giving hope back to those who had lost all faith in themselves.
