Society's mirrors reflect an incomplete image of reality. They tend to highlight certain voices while overlooking others. This exclusion perpetuates a distorted view of the world, creating a false sense of universality. Those whose voices are omitted from these mirrors are left on the margins, silenced and invisible. The voices that are excluded are often those of the marginalized and oppressed. They are the voices of the poor, the indigenous, the women, the LGBTQ+ community, and many others who do not conform to the dominant narratives. By silencing these voices, society perpetuates a system of inequality and injustice. This exclusion is not accidental but rather a deliberate act of power and control. Those in positions of privilege use their influence to shape the narrative in a way that benefits them, while silencing dissenting voices. This perpetuates a cycle of oppression, where the marginalized are denied a platform to speak their truth. The consequences of this exclusion are far-reaching. It perpetuates stereotypes, reinforces power dynamics, and maintains the status quo. It hinders progress and perpetuates injustice. To challenge this, we must actively seek out and amplify the voices that are excluded from society's mirrors. We must listen to those whose stories have been silenced and work towards a more inclusive and equitable world. Only by acknowledging and addressing this exclusion can we begin to dismantle the systems of power and privilege that perpetuate inequality. It is only by amplifying all voices, especially those that have been marginalized, that we can create a more just and equitable society.
