The lives of the young black men in my community were cut short, not by their own doing, but by a system that devalued their existence. It is a system that perpetuates inequalities based on race and socioeconomic status, leaving these young men with limited opportunities for a better future. As I reflect on their lives, I am forced to confront the harsh reality of systemic injustices that continue to plague our society.
