In our modern society, many individuals believe that accumulating material possessions is the key to finding happiness and fulfillment. However, as I have witnessed first-hand in the brutal conditions of a concentration camp, this belief is fundamentally flawed. Material possessions are transient and can be taken away from us in an instant. During my time in the camp, I saw how quickly people were stripped of everything they owned. Their clothes, their food, their personal belongings – all gone in the blink of an eye. In that moment, it became clear to me that true fulfillment does not come from what we own, but from within ourselves.
