The final journey of Pandavas towards heaven from "summary" of Mahabharat Ki Kathayen by Aparna Anand

After the great Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas ruled the kingdom wisely and justly. Yudhishthira, the eldest brother, was known for his righteousness, while Bhima was admired for his strength. Arjuna was celebrated for his skill in archery, Nakula for his beauty, and Sahadeva for his intelligence. Together, they were a formidable force. As time passed, the Pandavas grew old and decided it was time to renounce the world. They crowned Parikshit, the grandson of Arjuna, as the king and prepared for their final journey towards heaven. Draupadi, their common wife, decided to accompany them as well. The Pandavas, along with Draupadi, embarked on their journey towards Mount Sumeru. Along the way, they faced many trials and tribulations. They had to endure the harsh conditions of the journey, but their determination never wavered. They were guided by Lord Indra, who disguised himself as a dog to test their virtues. During their journey, one by one, the Pandavas and Draupadi fell down and died. Yudhishthira, the only one left standing, was granted permission to enter heaven. He was accompanied by a dog, who revealed himself to be Dharma, the god of righteousness. Yudhishthira was reunited with his brothers and Draupadi in heaven, where they lived happily ever after. Their journey towards heaven was a testament to their virtues and righteousness. The Pandavas were not just warriors, but embodiments of dharma and justice. Their final journey towards heaven was a fitting end to their epic tale.
