Education leads to activism from "summary" of Long Walk to Freedom with Connections by Nelson Mandela

Education was the most powerful weapon which you could use to change the world. It was a weapon that I could use to transform not only myself but also my people. By arming myself with knowledge, I could understand the injustices that plagued my society and could equip myself with the tools needed to fight against them. Education was not just about memorizing facts and figures; it was about critical thinking, questioning the status quo, and challenging the norms that perpetuated inequality and oppression. Through education, I was able to see beyond the confines of my own experiences and glimpse the larger world around me. I realized that the injustices I faced were not unique to me, but were part of a larger system of discrimination and subjugation that affected millions of people around the world. This realization sparked a fire within me, a desire to do something about the injustices I saw, to stand up and speak out against them. Education gave me the knowledge and confidence to challenge the oppressive regime that sought to silence me and my people. It taught me that I had a voice, that my words had power, and that I could use them to effect change. It empowered me to organize and mobilize others, to rally them behind a common cause, and to take action against the injustices that threatened our freedom and dignity. My education did not end in the classroom; it continued on the streets, in the prisons, and in the halls of power. It was a lifelong journey of learning, growing, and evolving as a person and as a leader. Through education, I was able to transform myself from a young boy herding cattle in the hills of Qunu to a revolutionary leader fighting against apartheid in South Africa. And I knew that as long as I continued to educate myself and others, the struggle for justice and equality would never be in vain.
