The fact that we are mortal creatures is what gives life its preciousness. Without an expiration date, what value would there be in anything we do? It is the shadow of death that makes every moment meaningful, every experience significant. If we were immortal, there would be no urgency to live, no reason to make the most of our time on earth. Our mortality forces us to confront the reality of our existence and pushes us to seek purpose and fulfillment. Knowing that our time is limited compels us to cherish every moment, to savor every joy, to learn from every challenge. It is the awareness of our mortality that drives us to create, to love, to connect with others. Death is an inevitable part of life, but it is also what gives life its beauty and poignancy.
