Pi and the Bengal tiger, Richard Parker, find themselves stranded on a lifeboat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. At first, Pi is terrified of the tiger, fearing for his life and constantly on edge. He sees Richard Parker as a threat, a dangerous beast that could turn on him at any moment. However, as time passes and they share the limited space on the lifeboat, Pi begins to see things differently. Their relationship evolves slowly, as Pi realizes that he must coexist with Richard Parker in order to survive. He starts to observe the tiger's behavior, learning his patterns and habits. Pi becomes more attuned to Richard Parker's needs, ensuring that they both have enough food and water to survive. In return, Richard Parker begins to see Pi as a provider, someone who can keep him alive in this harsh environment. As they spend more time together, Pi and Richard Parker develop a sense of mutual respect.
