In order for students to truly grasp the material being taught, they must be actively engaged in their own learning process. This means that teachers should not simply be imparting knowledge to their students, but rather guiding them to take ownership of their own learning. When students are empowered to take control of their education, they become more invested in the material and are more likely to retain what they have learned. Encouraging students to take ownership of their learning involves providing them with opportunities to make decisions about their own education. This could mean allowing students to choose how they will demonstrate their understanding of a concept, or giving them the freedom to explore topics that interest them within a given subject area.
