Women should not apologize for their success from "summary" of Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg

When a woman succeeds, she should feel proud and confident in her achievements. Society often expects women to downplay their success, to be modest and humble. But why should a woman have to apologize for her hard work and accomplishments? Apologizing for success sends the message that she doesn't deserve it or that she got lucky instead of earning it through her own merit and effort. Women should be able to stand tall and celebrate their achievements without feeling guilty or fearful of how others will perceive them. Success is something to be proud of, not something to be ashamed of. By owning their success, women can inspire others and serve as role models for the next generation of female leaders. Apologizing for success can also have negative consequences for women in the workplace. It can undermine their credibility and make them appear less confident in their abilities. When a woman constantly apologizes for her success, she is reinforcing societal stereotypes that women should be meek and submissive, instead of strong and assertive. It's time for women to break free from these outdated expectations and embrace their success wholeheartedly. By standing up and owning their achievements, women can pave the way for a more inclusive and empowering future for themselves and for other women. It's time for women to stop apologizing for their success and start celebrating it.
