The sisters turn against each other from "summary" of King Lear by William Shakespeare by William Shakespeare

Ingratitude, betrayal, and manipulation run rampant in the kingdom of King Lear, where the bond between sisters is shattered by greed and power. Goneril and Regan, once united in their deceitful schemes to gain their father's favor, soon find themselves consumed by jealousy and rivalry. As their thirst for control grows, their sisterly bond disintegrates before their eyes. The seeds of discord are sown when Lear, in a moment of arrogance and blindness, divides his kingdom among his daughters based on their flattery. Goneril and Regan, cunning and opportunistic, seize the opportunity to claim their share of power. However, their alliance quickly crumbles as they become entangled in a web of lies and deceit, each vying for supremacy over the other. Goneril, the elder sister, is the first to show her true colors as she ruthlessly manipulates her father and husband to secure her position as the most powerful in the kingdom. Her actions spark a chain of events that pit her against her sister Regan, who is equally ambitious and power-hungry. The once inseparable sisters now stand on opposite sides, locked in a fierce battle for control.
  1. The sisters resort to increasingly devious tactics to outdo each other, resorting to betrayal, treachery, and even murder. Their once strong bond shattered, they become bitter rivals, willing to sacrifice anything – even their own family – to achieve their selfish goals. In their relentless pursuit of power, they lose sight of the love and loyalty that once united them, ultimately leading to their downfall.
