Decency is disregarded from "summary" of It Was All a Lie by Stuart Stevens

The idea that decency is disregarded is not a new concept in politics. In fact, it has become a defining characteristic of modern political discourse. This disregard for decency has led to a lack of civility, respect, and integrity in our political leaders. Instead of focusing on policies and solutions, politicians have resorted to personal attacks, lies, and manipulation to further their own agendas. This erosion of decency can be seen in the way politicians interact with one another, as well as with the public. Instead of engaging in respectful debates and conversations, politicians now resort to name-calling, fear-mongering, and conspiracy theories to win support. This toxic political environment has only served to deepen the divide between different groups and foster a culture of mistrust and animosity. Furthermore, the disregard for decency has also led to a normalization of unethical behavior in politics. Politicians who engage in lies, corruption, and abuse of power are now seen as the norm rather than the exception. This normalization of unethical behavior has eroded public trust in our political institutions and has made it increasingly difficult to hold politicians accountable for their actions.
  1. The disregard for decency in politics has far-reaching consequences for our society as a whole. When our political leaders prioritize their own interests over the common good and engage in dishonest and unethical behavior, it sets a dangerous precedent for future generations. If we continue down this path, we risk losing the very foundations of our democracy and the values that we hold dear.
