Summer without Belly from "summary" of It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
Belly was used to spending her summers at the beach house with her family and her two best friends, Jeremiah and Conrad. But this summer was different. This summer, her mother was gone, her brother was away, and things just weren't the same. It felt like something was missing, like a piece of her heart had been taken away. Without her mother there to plan everything and make sure they all spent time together as a family, the beach house felt empty. Belly missed the way her mom would wake them up early in the morning to go for a run on the beach, or how she would make them all sit down for family dinners every night. It was these little traditions that made their summers so special, and without them, everything felt off-kilter. Belly tried to make the best of it, spending time with Conrad and Jeremiah and trying to enjoy the beach and the sun. But it just wasn't the same without her mom there, without that sense of togetherness that had always defined their summers. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing, that this summer would never be as magical as the ones before. As the days passed and Belly tried to navigate this new reality, she realized that maybe she needed to find a way to create her own happiness, to make this summer special in its own way. She couldn't change the fact that her mom was gone or that her family was fractured, but she could choose to embrace the moments she had with her friends and make the most of the time they had together. And so, Belly set out to make this summer her own, to find joy in the little things and create new memories that would sustain her through the difficult times. She would never forget the summers she had spent at the beach house with her family, but she knew that she could still find happiness and love in this new, altered reality. This summer wouldn't be like the ones before, but that didn't mean it had to be any less special.Similar Posts
