Reconciliation with Jeremiah from "summary" of It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han

In the wake of his father’s passing, Jeremiah was left to navigate the complexities of grief on his own. The weight of loss settled heavy on his shoulders, casting a shadow over his typically carefree demeanor. It was a stark reminder of the fragility of life, of how quickly everything could change in the blink of an eye. As the days stretched on, Jeremiah found himself drifting further and further away from the people who cared about him most. His friends tried to reach out, to offer comfort and support, but he pushed them away with a sharpness that surprised even himself. It was as if he had built a wall around his heart, shutting out the world in an attempt to shield himself from more pain. But amidst the darkness, there was a glimmer of hope. Belly, his childhood friend and confidante, refused to give up on him. She saw past his tough exterior, recognizing the vulnerability that lay beneath. And so, slowly but surely, she chipped away at the walls he had erected, offering him a safe space to express his grief and fears. Their journey towards reconciliation was not easy. There were tears and arguments, moments of doubt and frustration. But through it all, Belly remained steadfast in her belief that Jeremiah was worth fighting for. She saw the good in him, the light that still burned within, and refused to let it be extinguished. In the end, their reconciliation was not just about mending broken fences or healing old wounds. It was about finding a way back to each other, about rediscovering the bond that had once held them together. Jeremiah learned that it was okay to lean on others, to share his burdens and allow himself to be vulnerable. And Belly learned that sometimes, forgiveness was the greatest gift of all.
