The Vedic texts, such as the Rigveda, provide valuable insights into the early Indian society. These texts are considered to be some of the oldest religious scriptures in the world, composed in Sanskrit around 1500 BCE. They offer a glimpse into the social, economic, and political structures of ancient India. One of the key aspects revealed in the Vedic texts is the presence of a hierarchical social system known as the varna system. This system divided society into four main classes, or varnas, based on occupation: the Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (merchants and farmers), and Shudras (laborers and servants).
