When we assume things about someone or a situation, we are essentially closing ourselves off to new information and perspectives. Our assumptions act as blinders, preventing us from seeing the full picture and inhibiting our grasp of the truth.
It is easy to fall into the trap of making assumptions; our brains naturally seek patterns and fill in gaps to make sense of the world around us.
