Practice selfcare regularly from "summary" of I Feel Bad About My Neck by Nora Ephron

Self-care is something we all know we're supposed to be doing. We know we're supposed to be getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising, flossing, going to the doctor, and having regular massages. We know we're supposed to be doing all of these things because they're good for us. They keep us healthy; they keep us strong. They keep us alive. But knowing that we're supposed to be doing all of these things and actually doing them are two very different things. The problem with self-care is that it's not always easy. We live in a world that's constantly moving, constantly changing. We're always being pulled in a million different directions, and taking care of ourselves often falls to the bottom of the list. We tell ourselves we're too busy, too tired, too stressed out to take care of ourselves. We tell ourselves that we'll start tomorrow, that we'll start next week, that we'll start next month. But the truth is, tomorrow never comes. We have to make self-care a priority. We have to make it a non-negotiable part of our daily routine. We have to make it a habit, like brushing our teeth or putting on our seatbelt. We have to take care of ourselves not just because it's good for us, but because we deserve it. We deserve to feel our best, to look our best, to be our best. So start today. Start small. Take a walk around the block. Cook yourself a healthy meal. Call a friend and catch up. Treat yourself to a long, hot bath. Whatever it is, just do something. Do something for yourself. Do something that makes you feel good. Because when you take care of yourself, you're not just taking care of your body. You're taking care of your mind, your soul, your spirit. You're taking care of yourself in a way that no one else can. And that, my friend, is something worth doing.
